Project Description:
The purpose of the project is to identify, recruit, hire, administer and support qualified individuals or organizations to provide short or long-term technical assistance as needed and requested by USAID Indonesia’s Office of Health, in particular, to support USAID’s GHI and CDCS strategies and priorities specifically related to targeted health results. The project will provide specialized, high-level technical assistance to USAID, USAID-funded programs, the GOI (e.g., the Ministry of Health (MOH), National AIDS Commission, Indonesian Commission for Hospital Accreditation, the Office of the Special Envoy for the MDGs, etc.) parastatal organizations (e.g., Eijkman Institute), sub-national government (e.g., district health office), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), civil society organizations (CSOs), academic institutions, and other research institutes as required. The project will provide technical assistance in support of the goals and objectives of USAID Indonesia and the GOI in the context of the new CDCS strategy in which USAID and the GOI are partners and co-investors in development.
Job Summary:
The full-time Project Director position will be based in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Project Director will be responsible for the overall management of the five year project. In addition, s/he must be responsible for the technical supervision of all aspects of contract work, including development and management of a health technical specialist database, consultant identification and management, internal and external communication, and submission of reports and other contract deliverables. The Project Director must take an active role in organizing consultancies.

Illustrative Tasks/Responsibilities of the Project Director:
- Represent project and coordinate closely with USAID/Indonesia, Government of Indonesia and CAMRIS International, Inc.
- Oversee all components of the project including management of project personnel including, but not limited to, Senior Administrative Officer, Travel/Logistics Specialist, Budget and Financial manager, Information Technology Specialist, and/or Administrative Support.
- Ensure outstanding quality of written reports to USAID.
- Provide inputs for PMP development.
- Indonesian nationals are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution required.
- Proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- A minimum of 7 years of demonstrated experience in international development required, with at least 3 of the 7 years resident in a developing country. Indonesia country experience preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of United States (U.S.) Government rules, regulations, policies, and procedures as they relate to managing an international development project and hiring or subcontracting with consultants required.
- Demonstrated broad knowledge of current global public health program priorities and approaches required.
- A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated successful experience required as a senior manager of a program providing technical assistance in health, nutrition, or population in a developing country.
- Demonstrated experience hiring and placing international technical advisors for international public health programs in Indonesia required.
