Job Title: Scuba Diving Instructor
Reporting to: Project Site Manager & Head of Operations
Responsible to: Managing Director/CEO
Location: Raja Ampat & Bali, West Papua/Indonesia
Principal Function
To manage all aspects of the diving operations for the marine conservation base camp, including the general maintenance of all diving related equipment, compressors, outboard engines and boats. Provide PADI training for all courses up to Divemaster, for the expedition staff, volunteers and local scholar candidates.
General role description- Provide all PADI dive training from Open water to Divemaster for all expedition staff, local staff, volunteers and scholars.
- In conjunction with the Science Team organise/supervise the daily diving and snorkeling activities.
- Maintenance of all diving related equipment, including boat, outboard engines and compressors.
- Responsible for all aspects of scuba diving safety, enforcing when necessary the strict Barefoot Conservation diving standards.
- Keep accurate records of all diving equipment and spares, including making regular stock takes.
- Take part in the Science Training Programme and Community Projects. Be an active part of the surveying team when needed and help with the various on-going Community Projects.
Terms & Conditions
Contract Duration:
- 6 or 12 month contract, with possibility of extension at end of contract term.
Salary:
- Up to £1000 per annum depending on length of contract, level of experience, candidates qualifications and personal performance during contract term.
Accommodation/Food:
- Provided at Raja Ampat & Bali project sites.
Travel/Visa:
- Travel to the expedition site must be paid for by the candidate. All visa extensions will be paid for by Barefoot Conservation.
Training:
- Science Training Programme
* Initial Social Visa fee and first renewal must be paid by the candidate.
