Position : Geographic Information Systems ( GIS ) Officer
Based in : Bogor office
Contract period: 1 year with possibility of extension
Overview :
The GIS Officer will be required to provide
technical assistant in the field of GIS , remote sensing and database to the
WCS Programs. The work will provide support to both field interventions as well
as on policy development. The work will include developing system to compile
and analyze, both spatial and non-spatial data regarding a broad range of
issues, including but not limited to forest crimes, wildlife trade,
human-wildlife conflict, deforestation, and socio-economic situation of
communities.
The GIS Officer will lead WCS-IP collection,
storage, analysis, mapping, imaging, and communication of geospatial
information that provides important information for conservation activities in
Sumatra.
This position
will be based in Bogor, with regular trips to the field to provide direct
technical advice, monitoring and oversight to the projects. He/She will report
directly to Sumatera Program Manager as well as work closely together with
other colleagues in the office as a team.
