Greenpeace in Southeast Asia

Greenpeace opened our first office in Southeast Asia in 2000. In that time we have led successful campaigns throughout the region, securing fresher air, cleaner water and a healthier environment through changing industry practices and government policies. Greenpeace actively campaigns across the region to catalyze an energy revolution, protect ancient forests and our oceans, create a toxics-free future and create a shift to sustainable agriculture.

Greenpeace has three offices in Southeast Asia—in Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines and each office is composed of five departments: Campaigns, Fundraising, Communications, Mass Mobilization and Organizational Support.  Currently, Greenpeace has more than a 140 staff across the region, excluding the direct dialogue fundraisers.

THE POST:  HR OFFICER FOR DDC

Job Summary               
The HR Officer for DDC is responsible for implementing all spectrums of HR for DDC which include Recruitment, Performance Evaluation Program, Employee Relation, HRIS, and Employment Regulation Compliance in order to support Indonesia’s smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities               
  1. Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all DDC personnel.
  • To assist development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures
  • To prepare and maintain policies and procedures manual
  • To maintain Employee Handbook with updated resolutions and other pertinent information, as needed
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems
  • To assist evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals
  • To recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • To write, to revise, to edit and to proofread company policies & procedures and related documents as needed. Uses electronic bulletin board and other vehicles to communicate information
  • Performance evaluation program for all DDC personnel
  • To monitor performance evaluation program and to revise as necessary
  • Conduct recruitment process
  • To conduct recruitment effort for all categories of DDC, students, and temporary employees
  • To conduct new-employee orientations related to point a.
  • To monitor career pathing program, writes and Maintains listing of approved positions along with assigned salary grade levels. places advertisements
  • To assist hiring process by coordinating job posting on Web sites, reviewing resumes, performing telephone interviews and reference checks
  • Handling employee relation
  • To handle employee counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing for DDC, students and temporary employees.
  • Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports.
  • Work hand in hand with the other HRO to maintain personnel files ( in compliance with applicable legal requirements
  • To process personnel action forms and assures proper approvals; disseminates approved forms.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Prepares government reports related to local laws
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned           
Qualifications               
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 1 year experience in HR.
  • Have knowledge in Labor Law will be advantage.
  • Excellent computer & communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task effectively
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Highly organized, professional and analytical

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE APPLYING TO THIS POST

WORKING HOURS
Normal hours of work for full time Employee will be forty (40) per week or (5) days in a week, at 8 hours per day excluding an hour lunch break. This will be from Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:30 am to 6: 30 pm. Ordinary hours of work may be varied as agreed between staff and the line managers.

LEAVE
A permanent employee will be entitled to the following leaves:
Annual Leave: 20 days
Parental Leave:  As per labor laws and Greenpeace policy
Sabbatical leave: 2 months paid leave after 5 years of continuous service
Compassionate leave: maximum of 5 days for the death of significant others

SALARY
In determining salary offer for this position, Greenpeace applies its Salary Grading Process, taking into consideration the job description and applicant’s previous experience, and the organization’s salary grade.
