SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
(1 position based in Jakarta)
ROLE PURPOSE:
The Senior Accountant responsible to record all FR incomes and expenditures correctly according to YSTC policy, provide reports related to FR to the YSTC management and Global Save the Children. Monitoring & controlling FR expenditures are spent according to budget/forecast. Prepare regular billing to members of Save the Children, donors, SCI and others. Ensure the collectability of billing.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Graduate in Accounting
- At least has 5 years’ experience in accounting/finance area and database management with high volume and complex data sets
- Has strong accounting knowledge
- Experience as an accountant or similar position preferably as Account Receivable Accountant and or Reporting accountant
- Preferably having experience in INGO.
- Has strong knowledge and experience working with Ms. Excel or Open Office spreadsheets
- Experience with Word or equivalent Open Office software
- Ability to manage a complex and diverse workload and to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to build a small, proactive team, motivating staff and working collaboratively with colleagues and providing support and advice as necessary
- Willing and able to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies
- A full appreciation of the value of co-operation, both internationally and within a team environment
- Understanding of Save the Children vision and mission and a commitment to its objectives, values and essential standards
- Written and verbal fluency in English and Indonesian
- Time, task and record management skills
- Able to work independently without direct supervision
- Able to data analysis accurately and make decisions based on information
- High Level of experience of a database query package.
- A desire to work with and understand the various needs of a fundraising team who need data insights in order to operate effectively
