Position: Project Officer

Area/ Program: Chronic Obstetric Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

Reports To: Program Manager

Supervisory Responsibility: Yes

Program Overview: Respiratory disorders are important causes of morbidity and mortality in Indonesia. Health care providers and the community are not equally well informed about these disorders. Therefore, these problems are under-diagnosed and under-treated, and preventive measures are not widely taken. Scientific knowledge demonstrates that the burden of respiratory disorders can be greatly reduced if cost-effective preventive and curative actions are effectively implemented. The project aims to contribute to the reduction of morbidity and mortality related to asthma among high-risk populations in selected program sites in Indonesia.

Position Summary: The Project Officer will be responsible to provide managerial support to programs on COPD. Under the guidance of The Program Manager, The Project Officer will implement new, high-quality programs on Asthma Management. The Project Officer will coordinate all aspects of a comprehensive package of Asthma Management interventions in selected districts. The role also requires the ability to multi-task, high-level coordination with stakeholders, and handle complex and competing priorities.

Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Lead the development program and advocacy strategy with support from Program Manager.
  • Coordinates and supervises the partner organizations in program implementation and documentation.
  • Collecting data and information from the stakeholders, government, and partners/other NGOs for preparing reports.
  • Analyzing and identifying challenges of the projects under his/her line management to keep the works on schedule.
  • Identifying and managing risk associated with the delivery of projects in coordination with Program Manager.
  • Consolidate the work plan and budget plan for the program in coordination with the partner organizations.
  • Monitors program budgets jointly with Finance Officer and Program Manager.
  • Monitors the progress and performance of supported partners and implementations of program components on the basis of reports and field visits.
  • Ensure timely and quality reporting on the program to Program Manager
  • Execute any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Medical doctor, first degree in community medicine, or related degree in health science (master degree would be preferred).
  • Minimum 3 (three) years of similar experience in the field of Public Health, Health Science with government, private sector and/or NGOs, or minimum 1 (one) year experience for master degree in similar above field of education.
  • Technical knowledge, programmatic experience on respiratory health and related public health programs, partnership, and donor management experience will be preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and coordination skills.
  • Demonstrative ability to multitask.
  • Strong office program computer skills, literacy in statistical software is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English and excellent writing skills.
  • Willing to travel 30% of the time.
