Save the Children is an
international NGO and the world’s top independent charity for children
in need. Since 1919, we have been fighting for children’s rights, saving
their lives and providing hope for brighter futures worldwide. In
Indonesia, Save the
Children currently works in eleven provinces, has staff of
approximately 200 local professionals, and programming in Child
Protection, Education, Health and Nutrition, Disaster Risk Reduction,
and Humanitarian Response.
Save the Children in Indonesia is seeking
to fill the following position:
PROJECT OFFICER ROAD SIDE SAFETY (RSS) PROJECT
1 position, based in Bandung

The
Indonesian Traffic Corps reported 31,185 fatalities and nearly 150,000
injuries from traffic accidents in 2011, although it is widely
considered that there is underreporting. Of these, 70% were motorcycle
drivers or passengers
and 29% of victims were under 15 years old. Nearly 10,000 of these
children died in accidents (Indonesia Traffic Corps, 2011). These
fatalities are concentrated in five of the most populated provinces-
East Java, Central Java, West Java, North Sumatra, and
Jakarta.
To
address the issue mentioned above, Save the Children is implementing a
new project on Road Side Safety in Bandung, West Java. The project going
to work with several primary schools in Bandung City and working
closely with
District stakeholder, namely District Education Office, District
Transportation Office, and Traffic Management Control.
