- Support the preparation and translation of evaluation data collection tools such as surveys and question guides
- Conduct semi-structured qualitative interviews and group consultations to understand individuals’ experiences of the e-procurement fraud monitoring intervention
- Administer web-based and paper-based surveys and manage the data collected
- Collect quality institutional and government data by collaborating with implementing organization and local officials
- Conduct user research and testing, and/or ethnographic research activities as directed by Evaluation Lead
- Participate in synthesis sessions and support the Evaluation Lead in analyzing data collected to inform final reports
- Provide cultural and contextual interpretation across all evaluation activities and linguistic interpretation, as necessary.
Qualifications
- Must be a native speaker of Bahasa and have excellent English; knowledge of other local languages is a plus
- Must be available to undertake research activities in September 2014, April or May 2015 (flexible), and February or March 2016.
- Must be currently based in Indonesia, with willingness to travel to Makassar, Manado, and Kendari during data collection activities.
- Must be curious, street-smart, and quick on his/her feet.
- Empathy and emotional intelligence are core requirements. Must be sensitive and able to interact well with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience in social science (and especially ethnographic) research methods and monitoring & evaluation preferred.
- Experience working on governance, accountability, transparency, and citizen engagement issues preferred.
