Position: Grants Manager for the Applied Research and Innovation Systems (ARISA)

We are looking for a high performing
individual who can manage up to 10 grants aimed at commercialising innovations
and research with potential impact on the incomes of small farmers in eastern
Indonesia. These grants will co-finance
collaborations between Indonesian public and private applied and adaptive
research organisations and private sector firms interested in their commercial
dissemination to small farmers. The project will run for 4 years.
The Grants Manager will be
responsible for: identifying collaborations between research organisations and
private firms; working with these partners to formulate pathways to achieving
results at the farm level; overseeing the co-financing of these collaborations;
sourcing key technical experts to support these collaborations; monitoring
measurable results from these collaborations; taking remedial actions with
partners to generate positive outcomes; and supervising a small team of local
professionals.
This work will require: an
appreciation of applied and adaptive research, particularly in the agricultural
sector; a pragmatic understanding of how to commercialise and disseminate
innovation; excellent facilitation/negotiation skills in unstructured
situations with demonstrated success in delivering negotiated outcomes; and a
practical understanding of agriculture. Preferred applicants should have at least
a working knowledge of Bahasa Indonesian; a degree in business or a similar
field or in agricultural sciences and a fluency in writing and speaking
English.
