Due to a delay of institutional implementation the
Biodiversity and Climate Change Project (BIOCLIME) of the Indonesian Ministry
of Forestry, supported by the German International Cooperation (GIZ) on behalf
of the German Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and
Nuclear Safety (BMUB) seeks again qualified Indonesian experts for the
following positions:
Senior Advisor on
Biodiversity and Natural Resources Management
Based in Palembang,
South Sumatra
Responsibilities:
Advice to/on:
- district government, private- and public institutions on monitoring of biodiversity, fragmentation, degradation and carbon stocks of relevant forest ecosystems.
- development of biodiversity indicators and parameters to measure fragmentation and degradation of forest eco-systems.
- establishment of nature conservation areas and development of protection and management concepts for selected forest eco-systems integrating emission reduction and carbon stock enhancement.
- Support of facilitation of a multi-stakeholder forum for participatory planning and decision making for biodiversity preservation and protection of selected forest ecosystems
Qualification:
- Minimum Masters/MSc in the fields of biology, ecology, forestry or natural resources management
- Minimum of 10 years professional working experience, preferably at province and district level, in the following issues.
- Profound knowledge in the fields of biodiversity of forest eco-systems, management of conservation, protection and production forests, good knowledge of climate change issues and its impact on forest eco-systems, knowledge of international forest and climate relevant conventions, excellent knowledge of the Indonesian forestry and nature conservation sector.
- Good written and spoken English skills.
