Due to a delay of institutional implementation the
Biodiversity and Climate Change Project (BIOCLIME) of the Indonesian Ministry
of Forestry, supported by the German International Cooperation (GIZ) on behalf
of the German Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and
Nuclear Safety (BMUB) seeks again qualified Indonesian experts for the
following positions:
Senior Advisor on GIS
and Data Information Management Systems
Based in Palembang,
South Sumatra
Responsibilities:
- Advise to province and district government institutions in the development, running and maintenance of a spatial and non-spatial information management system (GIS and Satellite data) to collect, process and analyse climate and biodiversity relevant data.
- Support the public institutions to develop and implement a MRV system
Qualification:
- Masters/MSc in the fields of geography, computer science, database management,
- Minimum of 10 years professional working experience as a GIS expert, experience in map design, spatial analysis, image processing and development and management of spatial databases. Preferably GIS working experience in the fields of biology, ecology or forestry and in spatial planning on province and district level.
- Good written and spoken English skills
