JOB SUMMARY:
GRI is recruiting for an experienced Gender Justice Team Lead for the upcoming USAID-funded Rule of Law Program in Indonesia. The Gender Justice Team Lead, based in Jakarta, will have overall accountability to ensure strategic development, delivery of project results, and client satisfaction for gender justice programming. The Gender Justice Team Lead will report to GRI’s President and the Deputy Chief of Party - Technical.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Gender Justice Team Lead will have the following responsibilities:
  • Oversee strategic development and program deliverables for gender justice programming
  • Manage gender justice team and short term international consultants
  • Monitor budgets, grants and expenditures for complex programs and/or reconciliations
  • Serve as primary point of contact (POC) for client and program team on gender issues
  • Oversee production of consultant reports and other project deliverables
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual reports, work-plans, and success stories as required by client and GRI
  • Travel to provinces to ensure successful delivery of program results, including to remote, difficult, and insecure locations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by GRI President or Chief of Party - Technical
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • JD or LLM required; PhD preferred
  • Ten (10) years experience promoting women’s legal rights, access to justice, or participation in the justice sector; 15 years preferred
  • Experience training and/or mentoring judges and lawyers on gender equality issues
  • Experience with family law, including: divorce, child custody, domestic violence, sexual violence, and gender discrimination required
  • Legal clinic experience a plus
  • Experience with community education for women’s legal rights a plus
  • Prior management experience required. Prior Chief of Party, Deputy Chief of Party, or Team Lead experience preferred
  • Fluency in English required; Bahasa and additional local languages preferred
  • Prior experience working on USAID programs preferred
  • Excellent management and administrative skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity to effectively interact with all levels of staff, U.S. and foreign government personnel, members of donor organizations, funders and policy makers
  • Self-motivated and well organized
  • Ability to work collaboratively, supportively, and respectfully with others
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel to difficult environments to complete program assignments
