Description of the post
Frankfurt Zoological Society’s Mobile Education Unit (MEU) is operating in the Bukit Tigapuluh Ecosystem in Jambi/Sumatra. The MEU operates as a road show delivering basic environmental education to local communities with the aim to disseminate fundamental basics of nature conservation values in order to increase understanding and public support for nature conservation in Bukit Tigapuluh.
Frankfurt Zoological Society’s Mobile Education Unit (MEU) is operating in the Bukit Tigapuluh Ecosystem in Jambi/Sumatra. The MEU operates as a road show delivering basic environmental education to local communities with the aim to disseminate fundamental basics of nature conservation values in order to increase understanding and public support for nature conservation in Bukit Tigapuluh.
The Field Coordinator will be part of the MEU
Team visiting villages and schools at Tebo Regency and Jambi Town to promote the
Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Program and conservation values to school children
and during special sessions to the adult population.
The emphasis of the vacancy is on ENGLISH skills
to communicate MEU’s activities to foreign sponsors and partners including written
reports in excellent ENGLISH.

Terms of Reference
·
Responsible
for all teaching activities including presentations, puppet shows, power point
presentations, storytelling colouring book contests and other teaching
methods.
·
Creative
input for the education program, including developing new teaching materials
and new methods.
·
Develop
and maintain communication with MEU colleagues, partners, sponsors and other
stakeholders.
·
Working
in a team to implement nature conservation education programs for children and
local communities.
·
Provides
annual performance evaluations of MEU team members
·
Reports
on MEU activities (monthly, quarterly, annual) in English
·
Assists
to achieve necessary work permits and agreements from governmental parties
·
Responsible
for updating material and equipment inventories

General Requirements:
·
University
degree majoring in education, communication, biology or forestry, or equivalent
experience in a relevant field. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

Excellent
communication and writing skill in English and Bahasa Indonesia
·
Excellent
report writing skills
·
Experiences
in communication and teaching with good knowledge and ability to work with
children and community
·
Creativity to develop education programs
·
Computer
literate
·
Willing
to work under field conditions
·
Able
to work under pressure with minimum supervision
·
Good
understanding and positive attitude to nature conservation
·
Good
interpersonal skills, pleasant personality and team player
