Field Project Coordinator 

The Field Project Coordinator shall operate under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative in Indonesia, the general supervision of the Emergency Centre for Transboundary Animal Diseases Operations (ECTAD) Program Team Leader in Indonesia, and direct supervision of the Chief Technical Advisor for Control Implementation and Systems Development.  Working in close consultation and coordination with members of the ECTAD Indonesia team, FAO Representation office staff, government counterparts, donors, and implementing partners, the incumbent will be responsible for providing on-site coordination and management support for implementation for the rabies control programme in Bali and Flores.

Specifically, the Field Project Coordinator will perform the following duties:
  • Plans for selected activities under ECTAD Indonesia rabies control programme;
  • Act as the programme’s on-site focal person and local government liaison on behalf of the FAO ECTAD rabies control programme;
  • Coordinate all field activities conducted by implementing organizations contracted by FAO Indonesia in Bali and Flores in support of rabies control programme;
  • Coordinate operational administration, logistics and field operations of FAO ECTAD rabies control programme activities, as designated by the Operations Coordinator;
  • Assist in the production of project projection plans for the procurement of goods and supplies;
  • Coordinate social mobilization activities as necessary to accelerate implementation of activities under the Program;
  • In coordination with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team, assist with the monitoring and evaluation of selected ECTAD Indonesia Program activities at the field level;
  • Liaise with the national government, local authorities and implementing partners to increase project effectiveness and impact for selected activities;
  • Assist with the overall planning and implementation of selected training activities under the Program, in coordination with the Local Government Training team;
  • Support the CTA and Operations Coordinator to prepare project reports to donors, FAO and partners as required;
  • Provide interpretation between Indonesian into English to technical advisors, project visitors and project personnel during trainings, workshops, meetings, field visits and researches as required under the FAO ECTAD Indonesia program.
  • Translate related project documents as requested;
  • Perform other duties as required, particularly in relation to other FAO ECTAD Indonesia activities implemented in Bali and NTT provinces.
Qualifications:
  • University or bachelor degree in relevant subject
  • At least six years of related experience working on similar emergency disease control programmes in Indonesia, with previous experience on facilitating implementation of animal disease control programmes at between national and local levels highly recommended.
  • At least five years experience in translation or interpretation between English and Indonesian languages for international organizations/UN Agency, preferably registered as a member of Association of Indonesian Translators. 
  • Demonstrated project activity management skills, including ability to  provide strategic input, build strong teams, develop workplans, and manage budgets and project expenditures
  • Proven written, analytical, presentation and reporting skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to work under minimum supervision 
  • Ability to work with individuals from different cultural/ national backgrounds; good interpersonal and communication skills to motivate co-workers and foster team work
  • Ability to manage priorities and workload within general schedule of work, instructions and standardized practices
  • Excellent written and spoken English, speaks Bahasa fluently
  • Excellent English memo composition and editing skills
  • Proficiency in MS office, particularly Word, Excel and Power Point
Expected output:
  • Development of project strategies and workplans for selected activities under ECTAD Indonesia program
  • Proper operational administration, logistics and field operations of selected ECTAD activities.

Duty station: Bali based with frequent travel to Flores, Jakarta and other areas in Indonesia as necessary.

Duration: 3 months initial contract with possibility of extension
