WEHEA SOCIAL OFFICER
Wehea Social Officer facilitates and supports community members, community groups, and village government in their initiatives to achieve human well-being objectives and conservation goals. S/he builds and maintains good and intensive interactions with communities and other stakeholders to ensure sustainable forest and natural resource management in the village.

Wehea Social Officer facilitates and supports community members, community groups, and village government in their initiatives to achieve human well-being objectives and conservation goals. S/he builds and maintains good and intensive interactions with communities and other stakeholders to ensure sustainable forest and natural resource management in the village.
These may include one or more of the following functions:
- Facilitate community members and groups in different meetings to discuss issues related to community development, forest and natural resource management, etc. and ensures/monitors follow-up actions.
- Build and strengthen local institutions (community groups, village leaders, etc.) in administration, financial management, and other strategic and technical areas related to livelihood development and natural resource management.
- Help enhance the awareness and knowledge of community members in particular women and children on environment, climate change, and natural resource issues.
- Maintain close interaction with community members to gain insights into their interest and expectations with regards to forest and natural resources.
- Help link communities and village government with the neighboring communities, government agencies at the sub-district and district levels, private companies, NGOs, etc.
- Help collect and document various types of data and information through focus group discussions, key informant interviews, household survey, etc.
- Help organize meetings and other logistical support for TNC program staff, consultants, etc.
- Coordinate with supervisor and other TNC team members as requested.
This position reports to the Karst and Wehea PAM Coordinator and will be based in Nehas Leah Bing Village, Wehea, East Kutai.

Requirements:
- High school diploma and 1-2 years training in science-related field or related experience in community development or natural resource management.
- Experience working with or knowledge of natural systems.
- Ability to operate various types of equipment in a safe and efficient manner (e.g.; two-way radio, etc.)
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisor
- Ability to perform physical work, sometime under adverse conditions or in inclement weather
- Optional: PC familiarity, including database knowledge
