Short-term COVID-19 Media Tracking AssistantPalladium is appointed by USAID to manage USAID-funded Health technical Assistance Project (BANTU), to support USAID Indonesia’s Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS) by rapidly leveraging specialized short and long-term technical assistance to USAID, USAID-funded programs; the Government of Indonesia (GOI), and other organizations and agencies as required.
We are currently seeking a short-term COVID-19 Media Tracking Assistant to work closely with USAID/Indonesia’s Office of Health and its local counterparts.
JOB SUMMARY:
The USAID/Indonesia Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID) program is looking for a short-term COVID-19 Media Tracking Assistant to support its new COVID-19 programs. The individual will analyze and provide daily written summaries, updates, and analysis of COVID-19 media reports and social media communications, as well as provide daily written summaries of COVID-19 data from the Government of Indonesia. S/he will provide inputs to the development of simple and practical knowledge management mechanism(s) and assist in drafting social media content and news for USAID COVID-19 activities. In coordination with Implementing Partners and the Global Health Communications assistant, the individual will track and compile media and other reports related to USAID support to COVID-19.
This short-term position is for an Indonesian (local hire) for a three (3) month period with potential extension for another three (3) months. The position will be based off-site with regular meetings and intensive communication with the USAID COVID-19 Management Team.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in communications, English literature, Media Studies, development studies, statistics, social sciences, or related field; master’s degree is desirable; minimum 2 – 3 years of experience working in data processing and/or communication work/communication plans; proficient in utilization and analysis of different social media platforms in Indonesia; a fast learner on topics related to public health, emerging infectious disease/pandemic threats, international donors, Government of Indonesia systems, challenges and opportunities of the health sector in Indonesia at the national and sub-national levels; excellent in MS Office for data processing and surveying tools (Monkey survey, Google forms, Open Data Kit) or other mobile data collection platforms with prior experience carrying out surveys or conducting and presenting the qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis; excellent written and verbal communication in English and Bahasa Indonesia are required.
