Save the Children in Indonesia is changing for the better

We've begun to build a national organization that aims to be a strong, local, and self-sustaining voice for children in Indonesia. To this end, SC Indonesia has been designated as a Member. As Member, Indonesia has been identified as part of the next way of new member development, which focuses on strengthening and localizing our voice for children in strategic middle income countries. Indonesia has been authorized by member ballot to start fundraising locally as a first step towards building a financially sustainable local organization. Future work will also involve developing a strong local governance structure and building key partnerships with local government, the private sector, local civil society among others. Success of the pilot phase will set the Indonesia on a pathway to full membership. We are currently seeking to fill the following position:

Food Security and Livelihood Assistant
1 (one) position in Donggala, Central Sulawesi

ROLE PURPOSE:
Food Security and Livelihood Assistant ensure that projects are according to communities’ needs and that project activities are implemented with high quality. This role will be the main point of contact with community members at the field level and will lead on sensitization, monitoring and data collection and distribution of assistance. With a focus towards community mobilization s/he will oversee program activities in the targeted areas, register affected population, households according to vulnerability criteria, will oversee the execution of EFSL activities, and distribution of MPG, Community grant. S/he will monitor MPS, Community Grant as well as support with evaluations process as necessary.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:
  • Education background in Agriculture, Fisheries, Community Health, Social Work, Social Science, Economics, Social/culture study or relevant studies.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in Working with Community.
  • Proven experiences in working with children.
  • Proven skills on community development and mobilization and work closely with key stakeholders.
  • Have experiences work in Donggala (desirable), ability to speak local language is preferable.
  • Basic computer program.
  • Proven ability working in multi cultural and team work
  • Excellent basic program cycle
