UN Volunteers Job Vacancy: ASEAN-UN Partnership Officer with DPPA, Jakarta

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of the UN Liaison Officer to ASEAN, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
  • Working closely with UN partners as well as ASEAN Secretariat, ASEAN Member States and other partners. Specific activities include but not limited to:
  • Assisting preparations for organizing ASEAN-UN collaborative activities, including workshops, regular regional dialogues and trainings, in the Political-Security Cooperation pillar;
  • Supporting preparations for organizing regular Secretariat-to-Secretariat (S2S) regional dialogues in close coordination with the ASEAN Secretariat and the UN System;
  • Supporting UN collaboration with the ASEAN Institute for Peace and Reconciliation, once operationalized.
  • Closely following political and other developments in the ASEAN region relevant to the ASEAN-UN partnership, and report as appropriate.
  • Working closely with UN partners in the UN Country Team in areas related to peace-building, conflict prevention and development, including inter-agency coordination on UN peacekeeping training and activities related to the prevention of violent extremism.
  • Performing other functions as tasked by the UN Liaison Officer to ASEAN.
Qualifications/Requirements
Required degree level: Master degree or equivalent

Education - Additional Comments:
International Relations, Political Science, Social Sciences or Related Areas

Required experience: 24 Months

Experience remark:
Experience in peace-building related activities, and also reporting and monitoring of developments.

Experience of overseas professional work such as in Government, the United Nations, international organizations or civil society organizations would be preferable.

Language skills:
English(Mandatory), Level - Working Knowledge
