Project Hope Job Vacancy: Country Representative, Jakarta

Project HOPE is looking for an outstanding Indonesian citizen as the Country Representative (CR) to provide leadership for their program in Indonesia. Project HOPE is registered as Yayasan(Foundation) in Indonesia. The CR provides strategic direction and manage all activities in Indonesia, which include health programs in multiple themes such as maternal neonatal, child health (MNCH); Non-Communicable Diseases(NCDs); infectious; and disasters and health crises. They need to harnesses organization strategy to meet country’s health needs in collaboration with key stakeholders. The CR will provide technical support in proposal writing and fundraising initiatives. They are expected to build partnerships with national and province government and a wide range of other stakeholders especially with public health agencies, civil society organizations and private sectors. The CR is responsible for representing the organization in the country. The CR role requires strong public health technical and program management skills.

Main responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes the country strategy in line with global strategy
  • Provides techno-managerial supports to all activities related to the implementation of organization’s program in Indonesia and maintains regular communication with the supervisor and HQ team
  • Represents the organization in country, particularly to the government, private sector and other non-governmental agencies.
  • Ensures that all formalities required by the country law, government and other official agencies are properly prepared and timely presented
  • Develops and maintains sound relations with potential donors and partners and identifies new funding opportunities
  • Initiates development of new project proposals with support from the supervisor and HQ team
  • Implements and updates organization’s rules and procedures
  • Ensure that contracts, rules and procedures meet all requirements of national law and HQ requirements
  • Works with the global and local finance and admin team on budgeting, accounting and auditing as required
  • Recruits local staff and manages employees in Indonesia
  • Provides direct support to programs responding to major emergencies
  • Undertakes other duties that may be defined by organization leadership and supervisor

REQUIREMENTS:
Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 10-15 years’ program experience in senior management (i.e. Country Director, Country Representative, Technical Director) including team management, finance and administration; donor relations; and inter/intra-agency communications experiences.
  • Proven successful leadership and management experience, including program, staff and operational management
  • Public Health background or NGO/INGO/UN/Private sector experience in Public Health required
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in English and local language required.
