Plan International Job Vacancy: Engineer, Palu - Central Sulawesi

Plan International Indonesia Foundation (YPII) is responding to the Palu Earthquake and Tsunami disaster on an Orange 2 alert level. The approved Emergency Response Plan (ERP)  ”Meeting The Spesific Needs of Girls and Boys in the Tsunami Affected Areas in Central Sulawesi  Island” is for 11 months period and will focusing on GIRLS AND BOYS PROTECTION AND EDUCATION IN EMERGENCIES. YPII will be committed to better understand the varied needs of girls and boys, men and women, and have those needs and suggestion for responding as a core component to any sectors design and implementation. In addition, YPII’s response will be committed to reaching the most vulnerable families by emphasizing the needs of women and girls. Recognizing that women and girls are vulnerable and disproportionately suffer from various forms of abuse and exploitation, the program will seek to actively engage them in program design, planning, implementation, and monitoring.

Due to new organizational  Emergency Response Project,  Yayasan Plan International  Indonesia is looking for  dynamic staff  to be based in Palu for the position:

Engineer – Contract Based 

Dimensions of Role: Preparation and planning of project construction , Monitoring and evaluation of school construction, Submission of progress report of project construction

Preparation and planning of project construction 
Identify vulnerable structural building (including schools/ latrine) which potential to be reconstructed/ retrofitted, in coordination with project implementation area. Structural assessment at targeted location (Latrine/school/community). The structural assessment conducted simultaneously and coherent with school/site risks assessment. Designing/drawing the project construction  based on the result of structural assessment. Development of project reconstruction budget, including the detailed quantity of materials needed. Supporting finance, administration and logistic document for tender, bidding, or other procurement procedure required  Monitoring and evaluation of construction project Inspect and monitor construction sites to ensure adherence to safety standards and building codes. Ensure the construction process accordance with Shop Drawing and Bill of Quantity and specification. Monitoring the budget regularly and its spending performance accordance with time schedule. Coordination meeting with partner (community or consultant/contractor) to make sure process construction. Monitoring committee project to ensure the process on the track (e.g. warehouse list and record). Review progress report from consultant supervise /contractor /community before payment request

Submitted progress report of construction to Coordinator  Submission of visit report of monitoring construction and documentation. Monthly report of progress construction (report progress and time schedule). Prepared of as build Drawing and justification if needed

Requirements:
  • Education and experience: S1 – Bachelor in civil engineering or architecture
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years experiences in construction project
Knowledge and Skill:
Technical building construction, Community development, Facilitation skill, Communication and negotiation skill, Reporting skill, Team player, Computer
