Position summary:
The Senior Accountant is a key member of the Indonesia Field Office Administration team. Working closely with Finance & Accounting teams, the Global Accounting Director, the Deputy Accounting Director, s/he will work to ensure the integrity of Rainforest Alliance’s financial operations in the Indonesia office and the Asia Pacific region.

- In collaboration with NY Accounts Receivable, work to ensure invoices are submitted to clients in a timely manner, subsequent payments are received and recorded accordingly, and any necessary follow-up actions are taken to ensure timely, accurate payments;
- Implement and monitor internal controls in accordance with HQ F&A, local policies and best practices; and provide related training;
- Monitor office cash flow and coordinate with program personnel (administrators of programs and projects) to prepare monthly estimates of cash flow;
- Maintain local accounting system (MYOB) and prepare/post journal entries;
- Maintain and secure accounting and payroll records;
- Ensure correct coding and recording of information;
- Responsible for reviewing and approving as appropriate: travel expense reports, invoices, payments, advances, and receivables; review and post journal entries;
- Review and submit the monthly field office accounting report (FOAR) or Dynamics reports in a timely manner for consolidation of financial records for the whole RA. The senior accountant is responsible for Indonesia part of consolidated records and financials.
- Provide information as needed for Rainforest Alliance company audits as needed;
- Provide support/coordinate the preparation of project specific audits;
- Other duties as assigned.
Tax Responsibilities:
- Ensure/support finance-related compliance including coordinating with external accountants and auditors as needed to prepare and present the reports required by various government entities, in close coordination with HQ F&A;
- In coordination with HQ, and the local Human Resources Representative, process monthly payroll (through ADP Streamline);
- Prepare/review required payroll-related government reporting; file and submit payments on a timely basis;
- In coordination with the Human Resources Representative, ensure payroll-related labor law compliance;
- Adhere to government, local tax laws and HQ-New York accounting and legal requirements;
- Prepare/assist in preparation of financial reports for a variety of internal and external purposes including local accounting reports, requests for reimbursement to donors, reports for HQ F&A;
- Performing annual tax report;
- Other duties as assigned.

This position may oversee staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- Attention to detail: able to process detailed information on payroll and benefit numbers and data effectively and consistently;
- Integrity: adherence to the auditing standards, values and rules of conduct associated with finance related position. Being incorruptible;
- Learning ability: able to absorb new information on local regulation on taxes or other things related with his/her own work and to put it into practice effectively;
- Managing and planning: able to manage or plan the financial support for local office.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance;
- 5-7 years relevant experience, non-profit sector experience a plus;
- Demonstrated proficiency with previous accounting system software and Excel (such as pivot tables, V- lookups, formatting) preferable;
- Detail, deadline and solution-oriented;
- Solid knowledge of Indonesia tax (brevet certified is preferred);
- Experience in tax auditing a plus;
- Strong analytical and technical skills;
- Effective oral and written communication skills;
- Written and verbal proficiency in English;
- Willingness to travel domestically between local offices;
- Experience in a global work environment and/or international nonprofit organization preferred; and
- Ability to multitask and work independently and cooperatively in a team environment with people from diverse backgrounds.
