Job purpose
- To support the implementation of the IFRC epidemic and pandemic preparedness initiative by providing high quality finance, administration and reporting (financial and narrative) while contributing to the health department’s overall goals.
- To support the systems development of National Societies engaged in the epidemic pandemic preparedness initiative through direct and indirect support including coordinating support from organizational development, finance, PMER and knowledge and learning units of the IFRC.
Reporting
- Develop and distribute monthly to donors and partners
- Compile and produce meeting reports
- Ensure compliance and accountability on the various grants managed within the EP3
- Support the submission, implementation and reporting of grants related to EP3
- Support coordination, roll out, monitoring and evaluation of project activities, participate in final project review meetings and ensure that projects are implemented according to the approved proposal, budget, and timeline
- Organize related partnership meetings with multiple global, regional, and country partners.
- Support related training and knowledge sharing events
- Support project implementation targeted at improving national society capacity related to systems including Human resources, logistics, finance, organizational development and volunteer management
- Support the National Society to develop contingency plans to maintain operations through an epidemic or pandemic including human resources, logistics and finance procedures.
- Manage grants to collaborative partners internal and external to the IFRC including implementation of a results based financing framework
- Manage grant allocations per project with in EP3 and support national collaborative networks related to joint work plans.
- Be flexible in your work definition according to needs and targets and improve team efficiencies and effectiveness within available resources.
- Be a pro-active team member fostering a customer service-oriented culture that values proactivity, continuous improvement, innovation, high performance and cost effectiveness.
- Foster a co-creative environment with colleagues in the Secretariat, Regions and the National Societies as well actors in the relevant external environment.
- Support the Health Manager and Team Leader in strengthening financial standards in the team by contributing to: regular reports on use of funds within the EP3 programme are provided; and ensure budget needs are met and reported upon in a timely and efficient manner.
- Finance or administrative degree or equivalent experience.
- Advanced university degree (master's or equivalent) in Health or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
- At least 3 years working experience in the humanitarian or development sector, with a focus on organizational development, finance or movement cooperation is preferred.
- Demonstrated professional credibility in the sector and experience working in an international or cross-cultural environment.
- Experience working in a RC/RC National Society and/or Federation/ICRC.
- Programme and project management experience
- Fluently spoken and written English.
