The Yayasan Plan International Indonesia is a strong local voice that champions the rights of children and youth with a particular focus of achieving equality for girls in Indonesia. The Yayasan has a strong focus and voice for issues of marginalization and inequality of children and girls through its community programs, advocacy and child protection services. Yayasan Plan International Indonesia is an affiliate of Plan International Inc, an international, humanitarian, child focused development organization without religious, political or government ties and working in over 70 countries. The Executive Director is responsible for setting strategic direction and objectives for the organization, implementing policies and provide leadership, direction and guidance of the Foundation’s activities.

Position Summary:
The Executive Director will lead the Yayasan Plan International Indonesia towards becoming the most relevant voice on child rights and the go-to organisation for girl's issues in Indonesia. The Executive Director will provide strategic leadership for the Foundation and will have the challenging but rewarding task of building and leading a team of professionals in the field of development, advocacy and fundraising. The Executive Director will lead strategy development and ensure organisational alignment to effectively respond to the issues of marginalization and inequality in Indonesia and, in due course, for the Foundation to become a fully independent and sustainable member of the Plan International federation. The Executive Director represents the Yayasan to regulatory bodies, other agencies, community and civil society organizations, donors, funders and supporters, as well as the general public.
Primary Responsibilities: Reporting to the Yayasan Board of Directors, the ED
- Leads the organization in strategy development and change management for organisational alignment to achieve objectives as laid down in the Yayasan Charter, which focuses on quality rights-based programming, advocacy and resource mobilization
- Provides strategic direction and leadership for the Foundation to become an independent, self-sustainable not-for-profit, local organization, in line with Board-approved directions
- Stewards relationships with regional, national and local partners as well as government offices; represents the Yayasan nationally and internationally
- Recruits and manages a team of professional and engaged staff to drive and support delivery of organisational objectives
- Assumes full responsibility for the operations of the Yayasan, create a fully transparent and efficient operational environment and be fully accountable to the Board for all aspects of the Yayasan’s operations
- Assumes full responsibility for statutory obligations of the Yayasan under the Indonesian Laws

- Highly committed and passionate to the cause of vulnerable children in Indonesia in particular and the Asean region in general
- Comfortable in meeting and discussing with high government officials, dignitaries, EDs of other organizations and private sectors
- Adaptive management and intercultural, communication skills; experience with managing cultural differences; mature and well-respected
Qualifications:
- Indonesian nationality; fluent in English and additional languages an advantage
- Masters degree in social sciences/development, Business Administration and/or management
- With five years commercial experience and/or INGO experience
- Minimum of five years management and senior leadership experience
- Demonstrated experience from resource mobilization and/or fundraising
- Understanding of the Asian NGO sector and donor landscape
- International exposure/experience an advantage
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent presentation skills
- Fully computer-literate
