RESEARCH MANAGER

The Research Manager will work within the Last Mile Consulting team and manage a randomized controlled trial on seasonal migration in Nusa Tengara Timor.  Planned from May to October 2017, the research will involve recruiting 500 farming households to participate in the study and providing them with information and transportation subsidies to travel to urban areas after agricultural harvests.  The aim of the study is to measure the effectiveness of such an intervention on farmers’ income, health, nutrition, and other socioeconomic outcome measures.  This position requires strong detail-oriented operational and logistical skills.

We are currently recruiting a highly talented and motivated, business-savvy Senior Program Officer who will work as part of the Wonder Women Eastern Indonesia (WWEI) program, making clean energy technologies available in remote communities through a network of (mainly) women micro-small entrepreneurs (Wonder Women). These local women entrepreneurs sell clean energy technologies, such as water filters, cookstoves and solar lights, in their communities. Kopernik supplies technologies to the Wonder Women and provides a suite of training and support to help them succeed.

These local women entrepreneurs sell life-changing technologies, such as water filters, cookstoves and solar lights, in their communities, earning a margin from each sale. Kopernik supplies technologies to the MSEs and provides a suite of training and support to help them succeed. Many MSEs are based in remote areas with little or no access to telecommunications or internet.
