Save the Children Vacancy: Communication And Advocacy Assistant - SETARA, North Jakarta

Save the Children is an international NGO and the world’s top independent charity for children in need. Since 1919, we have been fighting for children’s rights, saving their lives and providing hope for brighter futures worldwide.  Save the Children’s programs in Indonesia is implemented by Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik. We currently work in eleven provinces, have staff of approximately 300 local professionals, and programming in Child Protection, Education, Health and Nutrition, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Humanitarian Response.

We are currently seeking to fill the following position:

COMMUNICATION AND ADVOCACY ASSISTANT - SETARA 
1 position, based in North Jakarta

ROLE PURPOSE:
To inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children, and in line with our theory of change, Save the Children aims to be a credible and powerful voice for children; because of this and in support of the marketing/fundraising elements of our approaches; we know that communication and advocacy are very critical to Save the Children success.

The Communication and Advocacy Assistant will work with the program teams as well as Sr. Communication & Advocacy Officer on the communication and advocacy works of all projects in North Jakarta; with addition in Belu, NTT under the particular SETARA Project. S/he will also support programs to develop and deliver communication and advocacy strategies in every level of project stakeholders; also produce quality communication products and materials.

She/he will provide support Senior Communication & Advocacy Officer related to day to day communication & advocacy works, as well as financial, administration management and assist on tracking as well as listing Communication materials in North Jakarta and Belu.

The post holder will work alongside program teams and Communication, Advocacy & Campaign Department at Country Office to organize events, identify and generate story opportunities, s/he will react to major breaking stories, develop regular newsletter, IEC Materials, and fact sheet, write newsworthy press materials (press releases, case studies, media briefings), s/he will also push out press messages on key social media networks, such as twitter, facebook and others.
