The Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs (JHCCP), a

pivotal role communication plays in the way people think and behave
about health and development issues. As a leading international
authority on public health, the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public

of JHCCP is to use its core strengths — strategic behavior change,
knowledge management, advocacy, capacity building and research and
evaluation — to achieve these goals. We are currently seeking a
qualified candidate for the position of Social Media Officer in Jakarta.
Project Description: The Reinvigorating Family Planning in Indonesia
(“My Choice”) is a two-and-a-half year project funded by the Bill &
Melinda Gates Foundation. It is designed to contribute to the
Government of Indonesia’s family planning goal to increase the nation’s
mCPR (modern Contraceptive Prevalence Rate) by addressing barriers to
supply and demand issues in 11 selected districts. The project is in
the process of building its team and is looking forward for a team
player and motivated individual to fill this position.
General Position Description: The Social Media Officer will oversee and
implement the project’s social media activities. Social Media Officer
will report to Social Media Coordinator and work closely with IT
Officer, partners organization, other community organizations,
freelancers to craft unique online content (blogs, podcasts, &
multimedia).
Specifically, s/he will carry on the following functions
and roles:
- Develop contents and/or collecting and compiling from the existing contents elsewhere on social media;
- Identify partners and conduct activities with partners;
- Generate and maintain a presence on social media sites, such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or Twitter, as well building an audience through off line campaigns and updates;
- Implement data mining and make the connection between statistics and how they translate to a campaign's success; and,
- Monitoring the different social media activities and regular report writing.
Minimum qualifications: s/he should have five+ years reporting and
editing experience, 3-5 years hands-on experience with social media
tools; a deep and personal familiarity with the big social networks:
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Youtube; but beyond that, s/he should
have knowledge of other social networking platforms, such as Blog, Path,
LinkedIn, Foursquare, and Stumbleupon. Additionally, s/he should have a
strong writing and presentation skills; experience in web development,
HTML/CSS, online news production; strong Photoshop and visual skills;
ability to lead participants in the social media conversation,
passionate about multimedia, blogging, micro-blogging; and, capability
to do data analytics skills and link data to campaign to provide
insights on what to do next.
