Tetra Tech ARD is currently accepting expressions of
interest for the Landscape Spatial Planning & GIS Specialist, Banda
Aceh based, on our USAID LESTARI project. USAID’s LESTARI project supports the
Government of Indonesia to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and conserve
biodiversity in carbon rich and biologically significant forest and mangrove
ecosystems.
Job Summary: The Landscape Spatial Planning & GIS
Specialist provides day-to-day technical support in spatial planning and GIS to
LESTARI landscape partners and project staff. This includes support for spatial
plans, ensuring SEA-LEDS and LCP recommendations for HCV and HCS conservation
and thus GHG emissions reduction are effectively integrated.
It also includes
support for SDI development and implementation as well as spatial data
management. GIS support includes as necessary technical support and capacity
building to ensure effective use of spatial data and maps in LESTARI work
including forest and land-use governance, protected areas management and
species conservation, and private sector support.
The Landscape Spatial
Planning & GIS Specialist will also support LESTARI monitoring and
reporting requirements. Requirements include previous experience in similar
roles either for donor projects, international organization, including but not
limited to in depth knowledge of the assigned region/landscape, in depth
understanding of GIS, land use, forestry, REDD+, spatial planning policy and
conservation issues; familiarity with USAID procedures and regulations; and
demonstrated ability to play a leadership role working on a multi-disciplinary
team. University degree in related field required.
