JUNIOR ROAD ENGINEER
PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION UNIT CONSULTANT (PIUC) - PROVINCIAL ROAD IMPROVEMENT AND MAINTENANCE (PRIM) PROGRAM
  • Based in Mataram with travel throughout West Nusa Tenggara
  • Maximum 13 months contract
  • Position open to Indonesian Nationals only
URS is the managing contractor of the Program Implementation Unit Consultant (PIUC) under Provincial Road Improvement and Maintenance (PRIM) program, an Australian Government funded activity. The objective of PIUC is to provide support to the Program Implementation Unit (PIU) in Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) in implementing the pilot PRIM program, carry out training and institutional  strengthening, and provide institutional support to the maintenance works program, including engineering designs and bid documents.

We are seeking expression of interest from Junior Road Engineers who will provide support to the Road Engineering team in the PIUC as this team supports the Provincial Government of NTB through advocacy, empowerment and building capacity to improve its ability to plan, implement, manage and monitor road maintenance tasks. The Junior Road Engineer will report directly to the International Road Maintenance Engineer and/or delegate.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities:

Competence, capabilities and skills transfer:
  • Computer literacy
  • Assist the PIUC engineering team to help designers, consultants and contractors better undertake their roles
  • Prepare minor designs and changes to existing designs under the guidance of Road Maintenance Engineer
  • Develop BOQs, rate analysis, estimates as directed by the Road Maintenance Engineer
Liaison and Reporting:
  • Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, technical reports, site inspection and event reports as well as monthly progress reporting and work plans
Skills Requirements

Essential Qualifications
The Junior Road Engineer must have the following skills:
  • Graduate Engineer with major/specific skills in rural infrastructure construction
  • Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Ability to use AUTOCAD Civil 3D or similar software
  • Familiarity in the use of survey instrument such as Total Station
