Title:  Private Sector Fundraising Specialist – Individual Donors Level: NO-C (National Professional Category) Type of Contract: Fixed-Term, IDS16022 Duty Station: Jakarta
UNICEF Indonesia is seeking an experienced fundraising professional who can drive the organization’s resource mobilization growth strategy by significantly increasing income from individuals in the country who support the work of UNICEF as pledge donors through their regular contributions. MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Chief Private Sector Fundraising, lead individual fundraising efforts, especially acquisition and retention of pledge donors who contribute regularly to the GOI-UNICEF Indonesia Country Programme. The position includes the following tasks:
  1. Under the guidance of the supervisor, lead the individual fundraising programme with a focus on pledge donors to grow un-earmarked funds for the country programme as per agreed targets.
  2. Be responsible for planning, monitoring and reporting of the Individual Fundraising programme, in close collaboration with the Regional Support Centre in Bangkok and the Private Fundraising and Partnerships Division (PFP) in Geneva.
  3. Supervise and guide a Private Fundraising Officer who is responsible for acquisition of high quality pledge donors to achieve pledge acquisition targets.
  4. Supervise and guide another Private Fundraising Officer who is responsible for retention of new and existing pledge and one-off donors and maintaining their records in the specified database.
  5. Work with corporate and other partners that support acquisition of new pledge donors including by providing pathways to pledge.
  6. Participate in meetings and workshops with various private/public sector organizations related to the implementation of strategies for private sector fundraising.
  7. Selection and management of all external partners as needed for acquisition and retention of individual donors.
  8. While major decisions are made by the supervisor, the s/m will work under minimum supervision and be given flexibility in seizing opportunities for developing effective fundraising and other resource mobilization activities.

PROFILE OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Advanced university degree*) in marketing or business administration or economics, training in marketing practices required.
  • At least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in sales, marketing, staff management and budget control. The nature of the post requires strong marketing/sales experience.
  • Experience in the working within business and private sector, UN and/ or other international development organization is an asset.
  • Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia (oral and written) is required
*) First level university degree may be considered if combined with a minimum of 8 years of professional work experience in the above field.
