Chemonics seeks wildlife trafficking experts for the anticipated USAID-funded Philippines Protect Wildlife and Indonesia SOROT projects. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Improve the management of conservation areas and the protection of marine and terrestrial species through advancing reforms in the legal and policy arena
- Actively engage both the private and public sector in biodiversity conservation and conservation financing
- Strengthen institutional capacity of host governments at the national and subnational levels to integrate conservation activities in local development plans
- Spearhead behavior change campaigns to improve attitudes about biodiversity and wildlife
- Develop national and regional partnerships and improve coordination between regional institutions' wildlife trafficking activities, including law enforcement activities
- Provide additional technical assistance and training as necessary
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a relevant field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in relevant technical areas
- Professional experience in Southeast Asia preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Exceptional written and oral language skills
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Fluency in English
