Tetra Tech ARD Vacancy: Deputy Chief of Party – Biodiversity Conservation Program, Jakarta

Tetra Tech ARD, headquartered in Burlington, Vermont is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a potential Deputy Chief of Party position on a USAID funded program in Indonesia. The program, known as SOROT, will address the market forces, financial incentives, policy levers, and social norms and values that drive deforestation and biodiversity loss in Indonesia.

SOROT will subsequently promote enduring changes in individual and organizational behavior in order to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and conserve valuable marine and terrestrial biodiversity across Indonesia.

The Deputy Chief of Party will work under the direction of the Chief of Party and provide close oversight of all aspects of day-to-day implementation, personnel management, reporting, and monitoring. The Deputy will also serve as a resident specialist with skills which complement those of the project’s other technical specialists, with a strong preference for technical skills and professional networks in sustainable palm oil and other extractive land use based industries targeted by the project. The position will be full time and based in Jakarta.

Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in business administration, environmental studies, conservation, or a related field;
  • Professional experience working with sustainable palm oil and other extractive land use based industries;
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in integrated program planning, implementation and monitoring, with progressive management experience;
  • Prior experience in the administration of similar international programs; experience on USAID-funded projects preferred.
  • Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia and English required;
  • An understanding of Indonesian political practices, as well as the country’s culture and norms;
  • Qualified Indonesian nationals strongly encouraged to apply.
