EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR
CONSULTANTS FOR KNOWLEDGE SECTOR INITIATIVE
The Knowledge
Sector Initiative (KSI) is a joint program between the Australian Government
and the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas to improve the
quality of public policies in Indonesia through the use of research, analysis
and evidence. Focusing on building Indonesian capacity to develop effective and
socially accountable policies that are aligned with priority development needs,
KSI provides a framework and resources to catalyze reform efforts. KSI is
implemented by a consortium of four research institutions led by RTI
International and including the Australian National University, The Nossal
Institute for Global Health at the University of Melbourne, and Overseas
Development Institute, UK.
KSI is seeking expressions of interest from
individuals to be considered for potential consultant opportunities in the
following broad areas.

General Qualification and Experience
- Relevant Master Degree and/or PhD, with 5 to 15 years of working experience in one or more of the key areas of expertise above
- Experience working with government think-tanks, and/or policy research institutions, and/or civil society organizations, and/or with university research centers
- Experience working in development sectors in Indonesia and/or in the Asia Pacific region
- Demonstrated leadership in multicultural and multifaceted settings
- Effective communicator, with strong interpersonal skills
- In-depth analytical skills, and ability to communicate complex concepts effectively
- Sound writing capacity for internal and external reports
- English proficiency is a must and Bahasa Indonesia fluency (for non-Indonesian nationals) is strongly preferred
- Understanding and/or experience with donor programs is an advantage
