Background GRM is a leading international development management firm specialising in the provision of project design, management expertise and technical assistance to development projects for bilateral and multilateral funding agencies, governments and corporations. We have over 40 years of development experience, managing in excess of 700 projects in more than 120 countries. 

The Role Due to a number of potential projects that GRM are currently in the process of securing we are seeking Expressions of Interest from Gender Specialists. The purpose of this role will be to provide high-quality technical support to ensure that GRM-managed programmes and activities maximise opportunities and impact for women and girls. 

Duties will include:
  1. Support the design and implementation of program strategies and plans to integrate and mainstream gender.
  2. Train and mentor program staff on gender.
  3. Undertake research to identify barriers and opportunities for women to enjoy equal opportunities as participants and beneficiaries of development and women’s participation and leadership in decision making.
  4. Undertake research to identify barriers and opportunities for women’s economic empowerment.
  5. Monitor and evaluate the impact of program activities on women and girls and contribute to M&E strategies and plans to ensure they adequately capture this.
  6. Devise strategies to mainstream gender considerations across program activities, including research, policy advocacy and organisational development.
  7. Provide advice to ensure that GRM programmes are in line with national policies and priorities on gender policy.
  8. Provide advice to ensure that GRM programs comply with donor gender policies.
  9. Represent GRM in different working groups and interagency working groups related to gender issues.
  10. Facilitate learning across GRM programmes relating to gender.

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in these roles you will have:
  • Master’s degree in social science especially gender studies of relevant discipline
  • Seven years of increasingly responsible professional experience in a senior technical / advisory role or similar.
  • Experience in research and policy level analysis.
  • Experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of gender projects.
