Conservation International Vacancy: SLP Field Watershed Management Coordinator - Tapanuli Utara

We are currently looking to fill the following position for our office in Tapanuli Utara (TapUt):

SLP Field Watershed Management Coordinator

Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the district government institutions to develop and implement integrated watershed management (IWM) in TapUt district;
  • Facilitate capacity building of the local CSOs and government institutions to support the IWM implementation 
  • Develop new green livelihood opportunities for communities from ecosystem services benefit in priority watershed areas 
  • Assist the monitoring and evaluation of IWM effectiveness 
  • Conduct capacity building for local CSOs in managing the priority watershed areas as new model of watershed management. 
  • Ensure that field expenses are allowable and in line with budget proposals and USAID regulations.
  • Consider innovative ways of capturing and communicating key program successes and achievements. 
  • Conduct capacity building and technical assistant to CSO and local government in managing/restoring/protecting the priority watershed areas. 
  • Partnership with local CSOs and government institutions to develop watershed management materials and training.
  • Promote experience-based learning processes and policy feedback loops/mechanisms with the SLP field programs and partner government, private sector, and civil society organizations.
Qualifications:
  • Has relevant degree in management and natural resource management-related science with a minimum 3 years of experience;
  • Experience in facilitating and developing IWM projects in Indonesia; 
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-cultural situations with a wide range of people in both the public and private sectors, including business, government, non-governmental organizations, donor organizations and local communities. 
  • Knowledge and background in the customs and government organizations of Indonesia. 
  • Willingness to travel and work long hours, including work in arduous field conditions, often to remote areas and work weekends and after hours as needed. 
  • Proven record of success as part of interdisciplinary project teams;
  • Good communication skills and develop network;
  • Good English.
  • Computer literate; humorist, hardworking, easygoing.
Preferred:
  • Have a good scientific knowledge of IWM;
  • 4 years’ work experienced in developing the integrated watershed management projects.
