Information Technology Specialist - Indonesia

Chemonics International Inc. seeks an Information Technology (IT) Specialist for the USAID-funded Indonesia Marine and Climate Support (IMACS) project. This project provides technical support for improving key marine and fisheries sector components with the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF), local governments, coastal communities, and the private sector.

This full-time assignment will take place from January 12, 2015 through March 27, 2015, with the potential for a six-month extension.

Specific requirements
The Information Technology Specialist will perform the following duties:

Support
  • Network and System support for all IMACS ICT requirements, including; ICT procurement (and developing preferred supplier arrangements), PC Support & Server maintenance and support, backup management, virus management. 
  • Maintenance of the IMACS project website(s); including assisting staff with technical issues when updating content.
  • Maintenance of IMACS Cloud Server; including routine backups of database server and application. 
  • Maintenance and support of the IMACS Information Systems. 
  • Where requested provide advice and/or assistance to MMAF on ICT support and development requirements; including technical assistance and advice for the development of Information Systems, Website development and maintenance, policy development and ICT and system Training.
Development
  • Develop policy and procedures and training manuals on IMACS ICT systems. 
  • In consultation with IMACS staff, develop information systems required by IMACS to increase efficiency. 
  • In consultation with IDS STTA develop and implement a plan to connect all IMACS remotes offices to IMACS Jakarta.
Project Close-out
  • Clean computers for handover to stakeholders at the end of the project 
  • Make copies of office files on external hard drives, CD/DVD to be sent to headquarters 
  • Assist with other duties as required. 
  •  Assist in developing and implementing basic office systems and accompanying procedures; 
  • Provide daily support and maintenance for office Local Area Network (LAN) 
  • Assist with selection of vendors for hardware, software and the LAN network through a competitive process; 
  • Install application software in LAN environment and the training of the contractor’s personnel on IT use and administration; 
  • Provide daily operational and maintenance (help desk) services to project IT users, troubleshooting and repairs for hardware, software and network problems; 
  • Coordinate on an as needed basis with IT STTA Specialists; 
  • Ensure smooth operation of project computer systems and equipment in the Jakarta and regional offices; 
  • Arrange for and oversee the maintenance of office equipment in coordination with the Office Manager; 
  • Serve as primary liaison with IT-related vendors and suppliers; 
  • As directed, serve as a liaison with home office on field personnel IT inquiries.
Qualifications
  • At least three years of experience working in IT 
  • Bachelor’s preferred or relevant experience 
  • Strong communication skills, both interpersonal and written, to fulfill the responsibilities proposed
  • Strong English writing and speaking skills required
