Swisscontact Indonesia Vacancy: Cash Accountant, Medan

The foundation is based in Zurich, Switzerland, and is active in 29 countries and has some 750 employees.

The SCPP is a large Public Private Partnership (“PPP”) in Indonesia which has started in January 2012. The Program is financed by the Swiss Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO, The Sustainable Trade Initiative IDH, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and five Private Sector Companies from the cocoa sector for the duration from 2012 – 2015. The Program works directly with 60,000 cocoa farming households in six Indonesian Provinces to improve farm productivity and livelihood conditions.

For our Swisscontact SCPP-Program in Indonesia, we are looking for an:

Cash Accountant – 3 months Fixed Term Contract.
Begin of Employment         : November 2014 or as agreed
Place of Duty                      : 1 person  – Medan, Indonesia.           

Overall Task
The Cash Accountant take responsibility as a cashier is in charge to prepare payment through Petty Cash and Bank in order to daily activities and input transaction to MyCash in Finance Unit Regional Sumatera Office.

TASK:
  • Received all payment request to staffs and third parties in Sumatera Regional Office
  • Checking all payment request for Regional Sumatera Office arithmetical and properly coding to respective budget
  • Ensure all vouchers are adequate supporting documents and following SOP SCPP project such as travel policy, cash management, and procurement standard are in place in cooperation with RFO
  • If point # b and # c unsatisfied Cash Accountant then return document  to the Requester
  • Prepare all payment by petty cash maximum IDR 5 million and bank transfer Bank for payment above IDR 5 million. Ensure payment administration in place and in timely manner after payment request signed by RPM and RFO
  • Ensure petty cash fund is sufficient every time to tackle immediate payment
  • Conduct petty cash count with RFO weekly basis
  • Ensure payment information delivered by email to the respective staff
  • Entry Entire payments into MYCASH system after payment done according to correct code of account before handed to RFO
  • Filing all payment vouchers in Regional Sumatera Office in coordination with RFO
  • Assist RFO for controlling outstanding cash advance of Regional Sumatera staffs especially the old outstanding (beyond one month and communicate with cash advance holder
  • Assist RFO in sending original vouchers to Supervisor Cash Accountant in Country Office
  • PIC in absence of RFO
  • Other tasks arise during the course in needed upon requested by Senior Finance Manager, RPM and RFO
  • Assist Cash Accountant upon needed such as calculation of BOE and preparing housing allowance to respective staff;
  • Other tasks arise during the course in needed upon requested by Sr. Finance Manager and Program Director.
KPI (Key Performance Indicator):
  • Properly  Payment in Regional Sumatera Office to staffs and third party according to SOP
  • Ensure petty cash fund is sufficient every time according to SOP
  • Meticulous calculation and properly charging in accordance to budget
  • Foster good relationship with Bank BRI Putri Hijau to gain the best banking services
Communication, Supervision, and Reporting
Keep good communication and reporting to Regional Finance Officer for any related work activities.
Duties applicable to all staff
  • Actively work towards the achievement of the Program’s goals.
  • Abide by and work in accordance with the Swisscontact’s code of conduct.
  • Perform any other work related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the line manager.
Knowledge/Skills:
  • Understanding of opportunities and constraints for sustainable development.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and control
  • Good interpersonal skills and commitment working in a team
  • Skills in computer, software systems (windows, spreadsheet, word processing, e-mail, internet.)
  • Presentation skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Excellent English skills written and verbal.
Education/Qualifications Required Preferred
University degree in Accountancy, preferably with post graduate qualification
 
Experiences
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in the relevant field
  • Previous working with one of NGOs
  • Familiar with accounting software
