Chemonics
International Inc., a leading international development consulting firm based
in Washington, D.C., seeks qualified technical specialists for anticipated
USAID-funded LESTARI project in Indonesia, to be implemented under the REPLACE
IDIQ. The project seeks to reduce land based greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and
conserve valuable biodiversity in carbon rich and biologically significant
forest and mangrove ecosystems in Aceh
Selatan, Aceh Tenggara, Central Kalimantan, Mimika, and Asmat landscapes in
Indonesia. LESTARI aims at improving (a) district land-use governance, (b)
management of conservation areas and protection of key species, (c) private
sector and industry practices, and (d) constituencies for conservation among
relevant government and non-governmental stakeholders. The ideal candidates
will have a record of successfully implementing USAID or other donor-funded
programs as well as a passion for making a difference in the lives of people.
We are seeking qualified specialists for the
following technical positions (all based in Jakarta, except for Regional
Manager’s position):
- Deputy Chief of Party, ideally specializing in either biodiversity conservation or low emissions growth;
- Forest Governance Advisor;
- Biodiversity Conservation Specialist;
- Private Sector Engagement Lead;
- Environmental Finance Specialist (MRV, REDD+, payment for ecosystem services);
- Land Use Planning Lead;
- License/Permitting Specialist;
- Environmental Awareness and Advocacy Specialist;
- Citizens/Government Engagement Specialist
- Sustainable Livelihoods Lead;
- Community Based Co-Management Specialist (Conservation Areas (CA) and surround. areas);
- Conservation Areas/Wildlife Management Specialist;
- Conservation Area Financing/Revenue Specialist;
- Private Sector Engagement Lead;
- Green Enterprise Development Specialist;
- Private Sector Best Management Practices (BMP)/Certification Specialist;
- Biodiversity Enforcement Specialist;
- Cross-cutting Gender and Disadvantaged Populations Specialist;
- Knowledge Management and Sharing Lead;
- Communications and Outreach Manager;
- Monitoring and Evaluation Manager (with a knowledge of GIS);
- Regional Managers for offices in Aceh, Kalimantan, and Papua (one per each office).
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in related technical field.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
- Experience working on USAID or other donor-funded forestry governance and biodiversity conservation projects a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, writing, and oral presentation skills
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity.
- Fluency in English and Indonesian Bahasa required.
