The
Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a
German international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development
with worldwide operations. Locally Appropriate Mitigation Actions in Indonesia (LAMA - I)
is a project funded by the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) to support local government (mainly
districts) in strengthening capacity of local governments to develop
a sustainable land use plan which
serve the national environmental and economic objectives for achieving
national emission reduction target of 41% and economic growth of 7%.
GIZ is managing capacity development component within a collaborative
implementation arrangement that led by ICRAF and involve CCROM-IPB whom
managing the policy component. It is a four years project to be ended on
the end of May 2017. The project is partnering
with Bappenas at national level and with three districts each in, and
the Province Government of, Papua and South Sumatra.
Junior Technical Project Professional
(Palembang)
A. Responsibilities
The Junior Technical Project Professional provides support for
- The Provincial Coordinator in carrying out project activities
- Coordinating project activities
- Carrying out specific research tasks which are required for planning the implementation of projects or programmes
- Carrying out specific tasks in connection with knowledge management for the project/programme
- Support the team leader in carrying out project activities
The Junior Technical Project Professional performs the following tasks:
B. Tasks
1. Coordination and monitoring
- Assist provincial coordinator in communicating with the counterparts in the district
- Puts together an overview of project/programme activities, deadlines etc. and presents this regularly at team meetings
- Supports project monitoring and updates information on project progress, documents and reports regularly on the status of results
- Assists with recording and documenting the results of all activities
- Prepare the minutes of the meeting in the working group discussion or field activities
- Participates in public discussion on issues directly connected with the project/programme
2. Implementation of project activities
- Planning and preparing presentations
- Assists with planning, coordinating, arranging and documenting meetings, workshops, seminars and other project activities
- Orders and distributes publication materials on the project/programme
- Assists the provincial coordinator in capacity development activities with counterparts
- Moderates team meetings in connection with activities in capacity development
3. Research
- In consultation with provincial coordinator, prepares and carries out qualitative research projects (developing survey instruments, field trials, training field staff, organisational preparation in the field, collecting and analysing data)
4. Knowledge management
- Writing reports
- Assists in communicating, updating and collecting information
- Organises and updates project documentation, the filing systems and the project library
5. Other duties/additional tasks
- Performs other duties and tasks at the request of management
C. equired qualifications, competences and experience
Qualifications
- University degree in international relations, development, forestry, or environmental management
- Experience in developing and facilitating capacity development programs, tools and training modules
Professional experience
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience
Other knowledge, additional competences
- Language skills: excellent spoken and written English and Indonesian
- Good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office, Access or other database programme)
- Good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently while also having the skills and interests to work effectively within teams and networks
- Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
