ChildFund has been working in Indonesia since 1958 and works in partnership with, and provides capacity building, financial and networking support to more than 18 community-based organizations (CBOs) covering 213 villages in the provinces of South Sumatera, Lampung, DKI Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Yogyakarta, Central Java, and East Nusa Tenggara. As a result of this coordinated partnership, ChildFund Indonesia directly and indirectly supports 380,000 children a year.  In addition to the implementation of core programs, ChildFund Indonesia has also responded to emergencies in Aceh (tsunami), West Sumatera (earthquake), Central Java and Yogyakarta (volcanic eruption).

ChildFund Indonesia is currently seeking:

Title: Program Officer 
Div/Dept: Eastern Zone/Programs 
Location: Kupang 
Reporting Relationship: Area Manager 
Terms of Contract: This is a long term position. However, initial contract will be Fixed Term, 1 (one) year, with possible extension upon satisfactory performance

summary
Provides technical assistance in coordinating and implementing national office programs, develops capacity among affiliate partners in program implementation, management, evaluation and promotes networking with program stakeholders

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides technical assistance in the implementation of organization’s area strategic plans by conducting research, identifying potential programs, and development of partnerships to ensure participation in program activities 
  • Provides technical assistance for capacity building of project beneficiaries and partner’s program development 
  • Support staff and affiliate partners / project beneficiaries in aligning programs with goals and objectives and integrating sponsorship and non sponsorship programs in national office 
  • Provide assistance and review project proposals from affiliate partners so that align with ChildFund strategies and policies. 
  • Provide onsite visits to program beneficiaries to monitor progress, assess program effectiveness and recommend program modification 
  • Identifying funding opportunities for proposal development at all level of the organization as requested. 
  • Provides documentation and reports (following ChildFund  / donor requirements). 
  • Assists in donor relation / sponsor relations duties of enrollment of children and compliance by affiliates of sponsorship requirements / donor requirements. 
  • Plays an active role in resource mobilization efforts 
  • Liaises with other child focused organizations for the development of best practices and leveraging networks.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE 
  • 5+ years experience in working in the human service or social services and/or with a non profit agency, preferably community organization 
  • Experience in any of these areas will be a value added: ECD/Education/Youth Empowerment/DRR/Child Protection 
  • Experience in working with youth program and managing Child Forum (Livelihood, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Cultural Activities) will be a value added 
  • Computer proficiency in general office software applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) 
  • Demonstrated experience with the design, implementation, management and evaluation of programs preferred 
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills in English;  
  • Good oral/written communication and organizational skills 
  • Proven track record in facilitation skills 
  • Must be able to travel to program locations; where applicable
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Social Work or relevant human services discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience;
