Abt Associates - Short-term and Long-term Technical Assistance, BANTU

Abt Associates seeks consultants for short-term and long-term technical assistance for an upcoming USAID-funded health technical assistance project in Indonesia. This project will support the improvement of skills in the clinical and public health workforces, and the quality of care in facilities through identifying and deploying short- and long-term technical assistance in a number of technical areas, including: 
  • Maternal and neonatal health 
  • Child health
  • Breastfeeding
  • Nutrition 
  • Epidemiology
  • Evaluation
  • Health information, monitoring, and disease surveillance systems
  • Research methodologies
  • Biostatistics
  • Emerging pandemic threats
  • Neglected tropical diseases
  • Writing and editing
  • Finance and organizational management
  • Strategic planning for health organizations
  • Health curriculum development
  • Gender
  • Social science research
  • Social marketing
  • Organizational capacity building
  • Civil society development
  • Health communication
Consultants may be called upon for short-term or long-term technical assistance provision in Indonesia, with assignments ranging from one week to three years. Consultants will be expected to work closely with stakeholders within the country to produce quality deliverables that meet the needs of the client. Consultants will be expected to travel throughout Indonesia to perform their assignments.

Qualifications:
  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in a relevant area
  • Significant technical experience in the field in one of the above listed technical areas
  • Experience in Indonesia strongly preferred
  • Experience convening stakeholders to provide input into the development and finalization of products
  • Proven ability to produce quality products in a time-efficient manner
  • Demonstrated broad knowledge of current global public health program priorities and approaches
  • Experience working with international donor-funded projects
  • English fluency required, and Bahasa Indonesia fluency preferred
