About UCP Roda Untuk Kemanusiaan (UCPRUK): Established in 2009 with the support of UCP Wheels for Humanity and the United States Agency for International Development, UCPRUK is the firstorganization of its kind in Indonesia to provide appropriately fitted wheelchairs for children and adults, capacity-building training for local wheelchair practitioners, and empowerment and advocacy programsfor the disabled population of Indonesia. A globally recognized model, UCPRUK supports the growth oflocal infrastructure to manufacture various models of wheelchairs appropriate for the needs of thepopulation while developing a new skilled profession of wheelchair practitioners across the country.This combined effort helps ensure that wheelchairs are available more widely and that they can bemaintained using locally sourced materials and service technicians. Position Description: Through this exciting, VOLUNTEERING opportunity, the Business DevelopmentCoordinator will be an integral part of the UCPRUK team, promoting the sustainability and growth of theorganization. The Business Development Coordinator will be responsible for creating and executing acoordinated and strategic fundraising effort, the main thrust of which will be events and the launch of amajor gifts program. The Business Development Coordinator will also support the identification andcultivation of local institutional funders. Current development activities at UCPRUK are sporadic, yethave nonetheless been very fruitful, so there is great opportunity for the right candidate to achievesuccess. The ideal candidate will be an experienced project manager/coordinator who is organized, dynamic,flexible, and adept at developing meaningful relationships with a diverse array of individuals. Thisposition will report to the Deputy Director of UCPRUK, and will receive support in the areas of strategycreation and planning from the leadership team at UPCRUK’s parent organization, US-based UCPWheels for Humanity (www.ucpwfh.org).
Primary Job Duties
- The primary goal of this individual will be to develop and execute an effective roadmap tocreate a consistent stream of revenue for UCPRUK.
- S/he will place a heavy emphasis on developing a signature annual event for the organization,and in creating a major gifts program via the identification, cultivation, and solicitation ofindividual donors.
- S/he will also support the identification and cultivation of relationships with local institutionalfunders, such as corporate CSR initiatives, private grantmaking organizations, and foreigngovernment ministries.
- S/he will work closely with the UCPRUK Deputy Director, the leadership team at UCP Wheels forHumanity, and other key volunteer leaders to raise the profile of the organization in thecommunity and implement a successful fundraising program.
- The successful candidate will bring an enthusiasm and passion for the mission and work ofUCPRUK and embody the gravitas, credibility and persuasiveness necessary to convince othersto support the organization.
Additional Job Duties
- Develop processes and systems for donor cultivation and stewardship (i.e. gift comes in, thankyou, phone call, next steps, etc.)
- Manage prospect research, gift administration, records management and the creation of relatedmarketing materials.
- Track explicit initiatives and oversee reports and correspondence to donors as necessary.
- Cultivate current and potential individual donors.
- Develop content for general communications and public relations activities as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
NECESSARY SKILLS / Qualifications
- University Degree or equivalent experience required.
- 3+ years of previous business development, fundraising, CSR, marketing, or event planning
- experience required.
- Fluent Indonesian and English speaker required.
- Familiarity with the philanthropic landscape of Indonesia preferred.
- Strategic, creative thinker with strong analytical skills
- Experience maintaining and managing relationships with stakeholders to benefit an organizationand meet goals
- Previous experience with disability rights or mobility access programs, a plus.
Hours and Period of Contract: This is a volunteering job, based at UCPRUK’s Office in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The initial contract as volunteer will be for 3 months and possibility to an ongoing salaried position as Business Development Manager.
