Hivos
Green Entrepreneurship (GE) Program focuses on rural areas where the
majority of the poor lives. In a context of degrading natural resources,
climate change and increasing energy prices entrepreneurial people in
these areas benefit from a more environmentally sound development. The
GE program’s objective is to increase the capacities of rural men and
women and small and
medium enterprises to improve their businesses in a sustainable way.
The program equally contributes to the development of a supportive green
and inclusive financial sector as well as renewable energy sectors,
whilst at the same time striving for environmentally and socially sound
development policies in the field of agriculture and energy at the
national and international level.
What is your responsibility?
- You will be responsible for the overall management of two new public private partnerships which aim to enhance the viability of smallholder coffee and pepper farms in Sumatra (Provinces of Lampung, South Sumatera and Bangka Belitung) thereby allowing the regions to regain their economic, social and environmental vitality and offer long-term business opportunities for smallholder farmers and private sector.
- You will ensure that effective and efficient collaboration mechanisms are established in the three districts, at the program level as well as with other stakeholders in the sector that allow for further scaling-up once the pilot phases have been finalised.
- Besides overall management and coordination, it will be your responsibility to ensure that social and environmental issues are integrated in program design and implementation and that monitoring, evaluation and learning mechanisms are established.
- Together with the Hivos Indonesia and Head Office team, you will be instrumental in designing subsequent up-scaling programs and mobilizing necessary funds.
- You are able to present Hivos’ vision in the field of green & productive landscapes in an attractive and leading way. You feel comfortable in building networks with relevant strategic partners and donor agencies in North and South.
What we expect:
- You have an advanced degree in a relevant field at University level. Ample experience in the promotion of rural entrepreneurship and collaboration with private sector actors in Indonesia.
- You have a minimum of 3 years experience in program and financial management as well as with working with international donors and/or the private sector
- You have demonstrated leadership qualities and an ability to promote partnership collaboration and manage effectively (cross-sector) partnerships.
- You have a convincing track-record in program development and resource mobilization.
- You have an active attitude in developing new initiative and building new connection.
- You have a strong affinity for Hivos’ mission and for social and environmental concerns.
- We expect you to have excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- You are an inspiring team player willing to innovate.
