Vacant Position Teacher Education Specialist Primary School, Jakarta

The USAID project Prioritazing Reform, Innovation and Opportunities for Reaching Indonesia’s Teachers, Administrators, and Students (PRIORITAS) will focus on capacity building and quality improvements for teacher training institutions (TTI) and for non-academic, pre-service teacher training providers. PRIORITAS will build the capacity of schools and MoEC, MORA national, provincial and district offices together with pre- and in-service teacher training organizations to coordinate, plan and train.

The PRIORITAS is currently seeking qualified individuals with wide networking among local government and schools to fill the positions of the 

TEACHER EDUCATION SPECIALIST PRIMARY SCHOOL / EARLY GRADES

This position to be based in Jakarta

The Specialist's responsibilities may include:
  • Manage and coordinate the development of products and services for Primary School activities;
  • Organize the PRIORITAS effort in the development and testing of Primary School training modules;
  • Collaborate with Provincial Coordinators, TTI (Teacher Training Institute) Development Specialists, Teacher Training Officers and local stakeholders in rolling out the PRIORITAS Primary School program at the provincial level;
  • Provide subject-area expertise in Early Grade Reading and Literacy for PRIORITAS training activities for TTI lecturers and primary school teachers;
  • Monitor and support the implementation of the Early Grade Reading and Literacy program with TTIs and schools
  • Support replication of DBE services and products as programmed under PRIORITAS;
  • Participate in the development of PRIORITAS good practices schools, lab schools, and practicums;
  • Contribute to relevant Primary School monitoring and evaluation activities;
  • Contribute relevant sections to PRIORITAS quarterly, annual, and final reports and other reporting requested by the Chief of Party;
Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in education or a related field;
  • Minimum 5 years significant previous experience in primary school education, especially early grade reading and literacy development in Indonesia;
  • Experience working within international donor-assisted education projects;
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills. Ability to work well within a team
  • Good spoken and written proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
