CWS Indonesia is an international relief, development, and refugee
assistance agency that has been operating in Indonesia for many years under an
agreement with the Ministry of Social Affairs. CWS Indonesia is the field
office of CWS, Inc., headquartered in New York. CWS assists the most
vulnerable, regardless of their religion, race, ethnicity, or gender.
CWS is implementing a UNHCR-funded program in Jakarta
that assists refugees and asylum seekers to access
basic services such as health care, and provides skills training and education
programs.
CWS is looking for candidates to fill
the following position:
Assistant Accountant : Jakarta based – 1 position
I. JOB SUMMARY: The
Assistant Accountant will be responsible for financial management of the office
and project of the organization that working for Jakarta. The Assistant Accountant
should also assist the Program Manager, Finance Coordinator and Senior Finance
with all reporting and communication concerning financial related matters. The
position also requires coordination/communication with all CWS staff and
support staff. Have supervision skills as well as the administration and documentation
skills. Ability
to be flexible in working with refugees and as part of the team is essential.
II. RESPONSIBILITIES
AND TASKS:
1. Financial Management Office
- Check all related documents carefully to ensure that only authorized and correct payments are made (receipt, purchase, contract/agreement, purchase order, etc. except employees contract).
- Input/data entry of CWS’ offices transactions into its financial software system.
- Handle all payments (cashier) with suppliers, vendors, travel advance of staff etc.
- Prepare monthly financial report.
2. Financial Management of Project
- Prepare and handle all the dispersing funds to all partners.
- Monitor reports from partners in terms of actual expenditures compared to project budgeted.
- Monitor and prepare cash flow.
- Monitor the completeness of procurement steps including forms, before doing any transaction / payment.
3. Communication, Coordination,
and Internal Communication
- Communicate with different stakeholders in financial and accounting issues if requested by the Program Manager, Finance Coordinator and Senior Finance.
- Communicate and coordinate with Program Staff on financial issues of projects
- Communicate and coordinate with logistics on financial issues of logistics, such as payment to trucking companies and labors, also monitor the disbursement of all procurement.
- Communicate and coordinate with administration on financial issues of administration, such as payment to suppliers and vendor, insurance claims and medical claim.
4. Others
- To do other tasks required by the Program Manager, Finance Coordinator and Senior Finance
Requirements:
- Hold degree in Economics majoring Accounting
- Minimum 3 years experience working as an Accountant preferably in Non Profit sector
- Experience in preparing the Financial Report/Financial Statements
- Experiences in operating Finance/Accpac software
- Able to manage petty cash and financial transactions
- Good interpersonal and communication skills in both spoken and written Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- Ability to work in a cultural and gender-sensitive manner, respect diversity in its all forms, including religious minorities, socio-economic situation, sexual orientation and ethnicity, etc;
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision and to handle multi tasking jobs;
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workload.
- Willing to work extra hours if required.
- Willing to travel/visit to project sites as requested.
