IFES
is a non-profit, non-partisan international organization. As the global
leader in democracy promotion, IFES advances good governance and
democratic rights by providing technical assistance to election
officials; empowering the underrepresented to participate in the
political process; and applying field-based research to improve the
electoral cycle. Since 1998, IFES has provided technical assistance to
support Indonesia’s civil society and democratic institutions. IFES
Indonesia is currently implementing the Elections 2014 Administration
Program (EAP) funded by the United States Agency for International
Development (USAID). Currently we are seeking Electoral Analyst to help
project implementation in Indonesia.
Scope of Work
IFES
Indonesia is seeking to engage a Local Consultant with significant
analyst experience and extensive knowledge of Indonesian politics and
elections. The consultant will work with IFES Indonesia’s Senior Advisor
to analyze news and events and prepare a weekly report for IFES’
partners, donors and other electoral stakeholders. Furthermore, in
cooperation with the Chief of Party, once a month, the Analyst will
produce a short paper on a current issue that may potentially impact the
upcoming election. The Analyst will research the issue ensuring all
available information is analyzed and included in the paper, as
relevant.
Requirements
The selected Consultant will:
· Have 3 to 5 years or analyst experience preferably in an international organization or international magazine or newspaper.
· Fluency in English and Indonesian, both written and oral;
· Proven record of independent analytical writing in English
· A high level of self-motivation and ability to work autonomously within a fast-paced environment;
· Strong analytical skills;
· Ability to take initiative and work within tight deadlines;
· Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and ability to make independent decisions;
· Masters degree in political science, international relations or related field.
