is driven by the vision of a world without malnutrition. GAIN is a Swiss based
international organization that mobilizes public-private partnerships and
provides financial and technical support to deliver nutritious foods to those
people most at risk of malnutrition. The
organization is delivering improved nutrition to an estimated 700 million
people in more than 30 countries, half of whom are women and children.

Communications Officer
The Behavior Change
Communications Officer shall provide support to the GAIN Indonesia office and
specifically the Nutritious Foods for Children and Mothers Initiative by
working on Behavior Change Communication campaigns in Indonesia. S/he will work
in close collaboration with research teams based in Indonesia and overseas and
with creative and activation agencies in Indonesia. The position will report to
the GAIN Indonesia Country Manager.
Responsibilities
- Oversee work done by a creative agency to ensure that formative research is translated into a BCC campaign including supervising pre-testing of campaign ideas and getting approval from government.
- Check communication materials prepared by creative and activation agencies to ensure consistency with the campaign theme(s)
- Liaison between GAIN and the research agencies in Indonesia and overseas for upcoming formative research projects in 2014.
- Be responsible for drafting official communications in Bahasa Indonesia as required by the country team.
- Prepare communications material (press releases, write-ups detailing progress of various projects) for submission to the Communications Team in London to post on our website and for local release.
- Assist in planning of events and oversee media relations by drafting materials and communication material.
- Ensure the delivery and quality of printed materials, manage their stock and define needs for events and mailings.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in: marketing development with a food or pharmaceutical company dealing with creative and activation agencies OR client servicing for an advertising agency dealing with international clients OR handling communications for an international organization or large company.
- Experience in dealing with government agencies desirable but not essential.
- Experience in public health is highly desirable but not essential.

· Ability to remain calm under pressure.
· Excellent communication skills in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.
· Proven writing and editing skills in both above languages.

Education

Professional diploma or university degree in
communications or related areas.
