The Center for Public Policy Transformation (Transformasi)
The Center for
Public Policy Transformation is a new, non-profit educational institution
established to promote evidence-based policy research and training in
Indonesia.
Transformasi will collaborate with domestic and international
partners to provide executive education programs for government officials, to
link training to practical policy research and help domestic researchers and
research institutions build capacity for evidence-based research. Transformasi
will invest in communications and outreach to raise public awareness of policy
issues and link policymakers, researchers and the general public.
Director of Finance and Administration
Reporting to
the Executive Director, the director of finance and administration will create and
manage effective and streamlined administrative/financial systems, including
financial, accounting, legal, human resources (HR), and physical
infrastructure.
As a member
of the senior management team, the director will be involved in strategic
planning, evaluation, and professional development initiatives, as well as
planning for the expansion of the Center’s research and training activities. He
or she will work closely with donor organizations to establish appropriate
financial control mechanisms and reporting procedures to ensure that donor
money is used efficiently and for the purposes intended.
Specific
responsibilities include:
- Review and approve preparation and finalization of monthly and annual financial reporting materials and metrics for the board of directors of the Center.
- Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow for administration, existing programs, and proposed new programs.
- Manage one full-time finance officer; hire and retain support staff as needed in the future.
- Coordinate all audit activities.
- Establish administrative processes including HR, payroll, and benefits functions and continuously develop and improve these systems.
- Manage the Center’s physical infrastructure, physical plant, and system maintenance.
- Develop successful and trusting relationships with the Center’s donors and other stakeholders.
- Train staff in financial and administrative management as required.
Qualifications
The director
of finance and administration will have at least five to eight years of
professional experience, including managing the finance and administration of a
dynamic $10 million to $20 million organization (preference given to nonprofit experience).
She or he will have experience creating and driving the analytic framework for
planning and managing organizational change in a highly entrepreneurial
organization.
The director
of finance and administration will have the following experience and
attributes:
- Bachelor degree accounting, business, management, economics or related discipline.
- Master degree in Business, Management, or Finance preferred.
- Excellent managerial and communication skills, with experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team.
- Demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting, ideally in the nonprofit sector.
- Experience should include legal, audit, compliance, budget, and resource development.
- Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and systems.
- Proven effectiveness leading professionals in finance and accounting.
- Experience in using IT to improve efficiency and accountability in a fast-moving environment.
- Flexible and a self-starter; able to multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented.
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the Center’s mission of promoting policy research and education.
