Chemonics International - Seeking Deputy Chief of Party Candidates, Jakarta

Chemonics International, a leading international development consulting firm based in Washington, D.C., is seeking Indonesian national Deputy Chief of Party candidates for the anticipated USAID-funded Indonesia Adaptasi Perubahan Iklim dan Ketangguhan (APIK) project in Indonesia.

The $18-20 million, five-year project will aim to improve climate and disaster resilience in Indonesia by supporting the government at the local, district, and provincial, and national levels, working directly with communities and the private sectors, and helping key stakeholders to develop, disseminate, and utilize better climate change information. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide project leadership, oversight of day-to-day operations, and management of administrative staff and serve in a key role in program start-up
  • Oversee all programmatic operations, including day-to-day activities involving administration, compliance, logistics, procurement, budgeting, finance, and subcontracts management
  • Work closely with and support the Chief of Party to ensure program implementation in compliance and conformity with the contract scope of work, USAID regulations and procedures, and Chemonics’ best practices and polices
Qualifications:
  • At least ten years of professional experience in climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, or a related natural resources management or environmental field;
  • Experience in the administration of similar size international donor support programs with skills in strategic planning, management, supervision and budgeting;
  • A master’s or higher degree in a relevant field of study, such as environmental management, agriculture, fishery, spatial planning, economics, public policy; natural, earth, or physical sciences; engineering; business administration; governance; climate change, climate change adaptation, disaster resilience; or other related field;
  •  Hands-on field implementation experience and contract management skills;
  •  Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills;
  •  Proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia both spoken and written;
  • Relevant work experience in Indonesia or Southeast Asia.
