Applicants are invited for one
(1) position as a Program Translator/Interpreter in the Australia-Indonesia
Partnership for Emerging Infectious Diseases (AIP-EID) Program located in
Jakarta. The position is a full time position until 31 December 2014, with an
immediate commencement date required.
Duties are:
- Under the direction of the Program Operations Manager Technical, support the DAFF-implemented, AusAID-funded Australia Indonesia Partnership for Emerging Infectious Diseases (AIP-EID) program as an interpreter/ translator;
- Provide detailed and high quality written translation services; Bahasa Indonesia to English and vice versa;
- Provide occasional interpretation (oral) services; Bahasa Indonesia to English and vice versa;
- Support arrangements for visits/meetings/workshops where required;
- Provide support to the Technical Program Officers as required;
- Carrying out other duties as required.
Desired Qualifications:
- TOEFL or IALTS accreditation;
- Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and an excellent command of written and spoken English,
- Proven experience in the area of writen translation, especially in technical subject matters
- Experience in oral interpretation (simultaneous or consecutive) desirable, and a willingness to undertake training to be more proficient at interpretation
- University graduate in language or a relevant subject;
- Experience working within a capacity development setting preferred; possess an understanding of, and willingness to promote, cross-cutting issues such as gender and disability;
- Technical knowledge of agriculture or animal health preferred;
- Solid knowledge in MS office, particularly Word, Excel and Power Point
