Vacant Position at USAID PRIORITAS - Technical Coordinator, Jakarta

The USAIDproject Prioritazing Reform, Innovation and Opportunities for Reaching Indonesia’s Teachers, Administrators, and Students (PRIORITAS)will focus on capacity building and quality improvements forteacher training institutions (TTI) and for non-academic, pre-serviceteacher raining providers. PRIORITAS will build the capacity of schools and MoEC, MORA national, provincial and district offices together with pre-and
in-serviceteacher training organizations tocoordinate, plan andtrain.

The PRIORITAS is currently seeking qualified individual to fill theposition of the Technical Coordinator

This position will be based in Jakarta

The objectives of the assignment as follows:
The Technical Coordinator is responsible day to day liaison with MOEC and MORA and will be expected to spend two days per week in MOEC, while making weekly visits to MORA. S/he will keep the ministries informed of PRIORITAS project activities and seek opportunities for cooperation and support links between project and ministry staff. S/he will also have a technical role in supporting the primary and junior secondary school teacher training and will be expected to contribute to the design of training modules and support the implementation of training in the field.

The Technical Coordinator's responsibilities will include:
  • Make regular visits to technical staff in the relevant part of MOEC and MORA to update them on PRIORITAS activities
  • Be present on a regular basis (the equivalent of at least two days per week) in the room assigned to the project in MOEC in order to advertise the project’s presence and coordinate with GOI and other donor projects present in MOEC
  • Keep updated on project activities in order inform GOI of the progress of the project
  • Facilitate meetings for senior and technical project staff with appropriate MOEC, MORA and Menko KESRA personnel
  • Work to ensure that GOI ministry staff are invited to and attend appropriate project activities and that project staff are conversely invited to attend appropriate GOI activities
  • Give technical inputs to project activities in primary and junior secondary education
Qualifications:
  • At least five years of professional experience and demonstrated knowledge of theory and practice relating to education development.
  • A knowledge of the Indonesian education sector and familiarity with the Indonesian education system.
  • Experience of working with the GOI, more especially the Ministry of Education and Culture and/or Ministry of Religious Affair
  • Experience in working on school and teacher training 
  • Minimum S1 degree, in a relevant field.
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills. Ability to work well within a team and to work effectively with government and non-government education stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent writing skills in Bahasa Indonesia. Ability to read reports in English.
